TOOLS FOR LIFE supports the German Aid for Afghan Children (GAAC)

In September 2010 more than 400 people have been killed and 400,000 displaced by monsoon flooding in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Several rivers burst their banks, washing away villages, roads and bridges. Some power supplies have been cut to prevent more electrocutions. Officials say the floods are the worst some regions have experienced in more than 80 years.

The German Aid for Afghan Children (GAAC) - a German non-government organization - is focusing his support to one of the most destroyed region - the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's districts. The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation donated? 2'000 to support the GAAC by providing food, including flour, oil, pulses, tea, sugar, milk and water to 1,000 families of Swat, Nowshera, Pabbi and Bannu districts.

Besides food, the GAAC also provides the flood victims with construction materials such as cement, brick and corrugated iron sheets for repair or reconstruction of their houses, and electric and solar cooking equipment. Goats, seeds, fertilizers would also be given to farmers to help them restart cultivation of land.
